Ed Bradley is black?

I read online Friday that Ed Bradley of 60 Minutes has died. In the article, I read that he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Black Journalists. I thought to myself, "Ed Bradley is black?" I looked more carefully at his picture:



I didn't think he looked very black, and I could see how someone like me might be confused into thinking he was Persian.

This is what a black man looks like. Notice the difference?

Are you cereal?

Are you serial?

Are you surreal?

Well, his facial features do look black, sure he's not the darkest man around but definitely african american. Photos can lie, it's all about lighting, and nowadays also photo editing. Look at another pic:

Ed Bradley is a fair-skinned Black man. Oh, and I have news for you: Colin Powell is Black, too! Did you know that even Heather Locklear has African ancestry? http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/secret/famous/locklear.html

Umm us black (actually dark brown) folks come in various shades of brown. How can you not know this?
